Kathryn Nicholson is a dynamic conductor and an irrepressible spirit who inspires choir and audience members alike with her joy and enthusiasm.  As an accredited music therapist, she has often witnessed and experienced the extraordinary power of singing to promote health, healing and happiness!
 
Kathryn has sung with the Canadian Opera Company Chorus, Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, National Arts Centre Cantata Singers and Pandora's Vox women's ensemble.  She has an extensive background in choral conducting and was a vocal instructor at Capilano College.
 
Kathryn has a Masters Degree in Music Therapy and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor. She is currently working at Canuck Place Children's Hospice in Vancouver BC. She will be on sabbatical from June to August in 2009, volunteering in paediatric palliative care in Bagamoyo, Tanzania.  She hopes her time there will also be an opportunity to study and collect more African spiritual music.
