In 2010, the UGC will celebrate 25 years of sharing the universal joy, love and compassion that infuses the world's rich spiritual and social consciousness musical traditions. Inspired in 1985 to create a ground-breaking multi-faith, multi-cultural choir, the vision of the founding members (some of whom still sing with the choir) remains deeply relevant as the importance of tolerance and community becomes ever more clear for a sustainable future! Thank you for your enthusiastic support over the years! The UGC's 25th Anniversary Season promises to be an amazing one. Plans are unfolding and events will appear on this site as they take shape. Hello all UGC alumni, In the year 2010 the Universal Gospel Choir is celebrating its 25th Anniversary! As part of the general festivities the Choir, and current music director Kathryn Nicholson, would like to invite you as an alumnus of the UGC to join us at the final concert of this our 25th year at 8 pm on Saturday June 12th at Canadian Memorial Church. We’d love to be able to give you a ticket outright but, as we are hoping that there will be many of you wanting to come, we really can’t afford to do that (arts funding cuts have affected us all!). We can offer you a reduced price of $20 (regular tickets are $25) and would really love you to come and celebrate with us. Sheet music and the mp3 file of the song we would like you to sing with us is available upon request by contacting the e-mail address below. This being a fairly straightforward piece, you can learn it on your own and then…at the concert, just come on down to the front, crowd in with us and sing!
